Our mission at Willowdale Children’s Academy is to provide an education that supports the whole child
in a safe and nurturing environment. It is our goal that each child will move on to kindergarten
empowered with confidence in their prerequisite school skills as well as in their social and emotional
strength. We strive to make meaningful connections with the children, their families, and our
community to nurture and support the growth of each child in our care.​

Introducing Our Dynamic New Owner!

Willowdale Children’s Academy is under new ownership! You may not have noticed this change if you
were looking for an unfamiliar face in our team… That is because the new owner of Willowdale
Children’s’ Academy has been part of these schools since they first opened!

Jackie Harris began her time with Willowdale Children’s Academy as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at the
West Chester location in 2008. Her amazing capability as a teacher and her love for children granted her
a trusted place in the hearts of the families, staff, and management.

When Willowdale Children’s Academy began to expand, they needed a Director to take over the daily
operations of the West Chester school. Jackie moved into the role of Director. Jackie soon found that
she loved the management parts of daycare as well!

As Willowdale Children’s Academy grew to have four locations, higher management was needed to
keep all the locations running smoothly. Jackie was chosen for this role and became the Executive
Director for all four of the Willowdale Children’s Academy locations.

This position was quite a challenging one, but it gave Jackie insight and practice in all the areas of
knowledge one needs to run a daycare business smoothly.

After a total of fourteen years of commitment to Willowdale Children’s Academy, Jackie was presented
with the opportunity to purchase the business. She purchased all four locations, making herself the
owner of a business for which she already had deep understanding. Jackie had accumulated a vast store
of knowledge and experience in teaching, child development, resources for children, staff leadership,
business management and more. It was a business in which she had already invested herself
completely, and the transaction of a purchase was just the final step.

Jackie lives with her husband Marques and their two daughters, Maddie and Layla. She is enjoying her
new role as the owner of Willowdale Children’s Academy. She can be found working in one of the
offices of the schools, or in the classrooms, still being part of the learning and growing relationships she
so values with each child and family!

Intellectual Growth
